Fussy and Fancy, "Try A New Technique" Challenge!

Is it really Friday?  I thought it would never get here!
I've been really excited about sharing my
DT Card with you!
Our current challenge is
TRY A NEW TECHNIQUE
Now is your chance to try that technique that you have seen before,
but haven't been able to try yet.
Our sponsor this time is Meljen's Designs, and she will be giving our random winner 4 digi stamps of their choice!
I made my pretty Fall card with an
EMBOSSED EMBEDDED IMAGE

If you would like to skip reading my long winded tutorial you can find a really simple tutorial
To make my embedded Leaf Image,  I kept my printed designer paper inside the scalloped oval nestability.
I covered the whole surface of my piece with my clear embossing ink pad.
Then I poured my clear embossing powder over the whole surface, dumped off the extra powder and used the heat gun.
While it was still really hot from the heat gun I continued to pour more embossing powder on it and set it again with the heat gun.
I heat set three separate coats of powder.
After it was cool
I used a Hero Arts rubber Leaf Stamp.
I dipped my stamp in my clear embossing ink pad and stamped the image on top of my clear embossed oval scallop shape.
Then I used Copper Embossing powder!
After I dumped the extra powder, I heat set it again with my heat gun and ....
WOW!
It really came out cool!
It's an embedded copper leaf image!
Recipe
Stampin Up cardstock
K&Company QueSerLera Designer Paper
I made the left side of my card by stamping the leaf image with two different inks and dry embossing it.
I also used my SU Scallop border punch
and
Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon

Even though my instructions may look difficult, this was really simple and FUN!
I hope that I've inspired you to give it a try sometime!
Now it's your turn!
If you haven't already, please check out all of the
wonderful new techniques that our DT has to share with you!

Hello, and thank you for stopping by!
It's time for a brand new Challenge at
Freshly Brewed Challenges!
This week we want to see your fabulous
Autumn/Fall cards!
For my DT Card I  used the very special,
As the evenings start to become cooler with Autumn weather, I felt drawn to this wonderful stamp.
I can just picture her knitting in her chair, all comfy and cozy, with a nice cup of coffee on her side table.
This stamped image is really easy to color and so much fun to work with.
I decided to paper piece her chair.  Fresh Brewed Designs stamps are such nice thick quality, and they have nice deep etching.  Stamping and paper piecing is simple and fun!  I get a perfect image every time!
I colored my image with Copic Markers
I used my scalloped circle nestabilities
I also used MFT Dienamics for the scalloped DP
The punches for the sentiment and the pearls are Stampin Up
The paper flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
The leaves are done with my favorite leaf Marianne Die
The ribbon is a-muse/studio

SAVE THE HOOTERS BLOG HOP!

Good Morning and thank you for joining in on the
Fresh Brewed Designs
Save The Hooters blog hop!

If you are getting here from the very lovely and talented, Rhonda's, blog then you are right on track.

If not, please start off at the beautiful and talented Linda's blog.

We are so happy that you are joining us today as we spread smiles, share beautiful projects and most of all raise Cancer awareness.

I know most of us have had family or friends who have been diagnosed with a form of cancer or know someone who has died of cancer related causes. I personally have lost grandparents and my father in law to Cancer. Both of my own parents have been diagnosed with Cancer as well. They are both doing well, for which we are all so very grateful. Cancer is scary for those diagnosed with it as well as all of their loved ones who can only pray and be there to support them. We pray really hard.

One of those cancers is Breast Cancer. In the year 2011 in the United States alone approximately 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women have been reported, approximately 57,650 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be found (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer, and approximately 39,520 deaths from breast cancer (women).
Fresh Brewed Designs has created a brand new rubber stamp set as well as several digital stamps in which part of your purchase will be donated to Chemo Angels.

If you have not heard about Chemo Angels we suggest you look them up. They are a wonderful organization. They support all forms of cancer as well as have ways to donate in the form of time, cards, as well as monetary donations. To find out more about how
Fresh Brewed Designs will be taking part, read here.
For this hop I chose to use this image from the brand new, "Save The Hooters" stamp set!

I am in love with this adorable and very unique stamp set!
Aren't those little owls precious?
This image is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face!
I colored my stamped image with my copic markers and paper pieced the bra with stampin up dp.
The cardstock, background dp and pretty dotted ribbon is all SU.
The pink paper roses are Wild Orchid crafts
The pink leaves are made with my Marianne Die.

Fresh Brewed Designs is also sponsoring the Link Up For Pink.

This linking party will be held from October 1 - 14. Every project linked will be pink themed and there will be lots of opportunities for prizes. Grab the badge and be sure to save the date!

If you purchase the featured BCA stamp set or any of the BCA digital stamps, be sure to be watching for a special link in the tabs under the blog header at

There will be a special link up challenge just for you starting October 1st. We will allow back linking as long as you are using these images.

Your next stop on the hop will be at the very lovely and talented Catherine's blog.
Thank you again for hopping with is and helping spread the word.

Have a very blessed and beautiful day.

Here is the hop order in case you get lost along the way:
